Since 2014, Marathi Katta Australia (MKA) has been a proud member of Red25 (formerly Club Red), a program of the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood that encourages groups and organisations to unite in saving lives through blood donation. Through this initiative, our community members have the flexibility to donate blood at their convenience, while contributing to a larger collective goal.

Red25 brings together a wide range of groups—including workplaces, community organisations, schools, and even circles of friends—under one shared mission: to help meet 25% of Australia’s blood donation needs. By uniting these diverse groups, the program strengthens Australia’s blood supply and ensures that life-saving donations are available when they are most needed.

 

At MKA, our ongoing Blood Donation Drive plays an important role in supporting this mission. We encourage donations year-round, with special focus during critical times such as the winter months, when blood supply often runs low. These efforts help ensure that patients undergoing surgery, managing illness, or facing medical emergencies receive the blood they need. Beyond saving lives, Red25 fosters a spirit of teamwork, compassion, and community pride. It provides a meaningful way for groups to come together, build morale, and make a real difference.

 

Since joining Red25, MKA’s contributions have helped save more than 650 lives, a milestone we are deeply proud of. Our commitment has also been recognised by the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, which honoured us with a Certificate of Appreciation. Through this initiative, Marathi Katta Australia remains dedicated to the spirit of seva (selfless service) and continues to encourage our community to unite for this life-saving cause.
