mka youth

MKA Youth is a branch of Marathi Katta Australia that was launched to encourage youth from all backgrounds to get involved in various cultural and social events in order to unite and raise funds to assist the less fortunate. All funds raised by MKA Youth are passed on to Marathi Katta Australia (MKA).

Our vision at MKA youth is to foster positive change. Together we have created a space and an ever growing community that pushes it self to innovate, create and inspire. We are motivated to provide a platform for youth to engage and collaborate in the creative and performing arts. Most importantly we are driven by a constant goal to help those less fortunate and enrich our community as a whole.

Follow the extraordinary history of MKA Youth. We invite you to join us to be a part of the next chapter of our story.

FoodBank Food Drive

At the end of April 2019, MKA Youth ran a Food Drive in collaboration with FoodBank as one of our charitable efforts stated in our 7 point agenda.

The funds for this donation was raised from the 2018 annual musical theatre production, Boys Will Be Boys. Approximately $750 of the funds were directed towards purchasing essential food for the drive such as rice, pasta, sauces, baked beans and soup, which made up around 250 meals. This was distributed across NSW through FoodBank.

Homeless Hub Day

In early June 2018, MKA Youth participated in the Macarthur Homeless Hub Day, which is organised annually to provide homeless support and lifestyle essentials.

Through this event, over 30 packs were distributed, which consisted of everyday essentials that we all take for granted, including toothpaste, shaving foam, razors, deodorants, beanies, soaps, socks and ponchos.

The main aim of homeless hub is to engage people who are homeless or at the brink of homlessness and connect them to serviced that can assist them with basic lifestyle essentials. The hub, which is organised by the Macarthur Homeless Commitee, has brought together over 30 local service providers in order to help those in need within the region.
