MKA Youth is a branch of Marathi Katta Australia (MKA), established to encourage youth from all backgrounds to participate in cultural and social events. Our aim is to  unite the community and raise funds to support those in need. All funds raised by MKA Youth are directed to Marathi Katta Australia to further its charitable mission.

Our vision at MKA Youth is to foster positive change. ​Together, we have built an inclusive and ever-growing community that strives to innovate, create, and inspire. We are committed to providing a platform for youth to engage and collaborate in the creative and performing arts. Most importantly, we are driven by a shared goal to support the less fortunate and enrich our community as a whole.

Our Story

NOVember 2017

The initial idea for creating MKA Youth was developed by co-founders Ranjeet Manjrekar and Vighnesh Chandurkar in collaboration with Marathi Katta Australia (MKA).

December 2017

MKA Youth established its inaugural executive team to lead the youth branch of Marathi Katta Australia and to inspire young people from diverse backgrounds to unite and raise funds for the less fortunate in our society, guided by MKA's 7-Point Mission.

JANUARY 2018

MKA Youth began organising its first musical charity theatre production, 'Boys Will Be Boys', to provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents while also raising funds to support disadvantaged members of our society.

april 2018

MKA Youth hosted its first Marathi radio show to raise awareness about the organisation and its upcoming activities.

august 2018

MKA Youth successfully coordinated 2 shows of their musical theatre production,'Boys Will Be Boys' and raised over $6,000 to use towards the organisation's  7 point agenda and help those in need.

october 2018

MKA Youth assisted Marathi Katta Australia in organising Dandiya Night, a cultural event aimed at raising additional funds for future charitable initiatives.

november 2018

In response to the growing number of youth volunteers eager to support charitable activities and fundraising efforts, MKA Youth introduced its 2018/19 Executive Team along with its inaugural Organising Committee.

february 2019

MKA Youth hosted its first formal social event, Jab We Ball, with the aim of raising awareness about its charitable initiatives and encouraging new individuals to get involved with the organisation, ultimately helping to grow the team.

march 2019

MKA Youth launched its second musical theatre production 'UNSPOKEN '.

april 2019

MKA Youth partnered with FoodBank to distribute $750 worth of essential food items to individuals in need across New South Wales.

august 2019

MKA Youth successfully coordinated three performances of their musical theatre production, 'UNSPOKEN', raising over $9,000 to support the organisation’s 7-Point Mission and assist those in need.

Boys Will Be Boys is a musical theatre production that explores the challenges faced by today’s youth—with a comedic twist. Themes such as friendship, love, denial, and betrayal are woven throughout the story, all while humour remains at the heart of the performance.

Unspoken is a musical theatre production that follows Aryan and his closest friends as they embark on a vacation to celebrate his graduation milestone.

Although Aryan shares an unbreakable bond with his friends, he begins to sense that they are hiding something from him.
